Artbox Squishy Toy Guide: Slang-i, Crunch Slang-i and Wakppu Ball Compared

The squishy section at Artbox is no longer just a shelf of basic squeeze toys. There were regular squishies, Slang-i, Crunch Slang-i, Wakppu Balls and keycap toys, all designed around the fun of touching, pressing and squeezing.
After trying several products in person, the textures and ways to play with them felt surprisingly different. Here is a practical comparison based on what I tested in store, plus my experience using the egg-yolk Wakppu Ball I bought.
What kinds of squishy toys can you find at Artbox?
The first thing that stood out was how many different sensory toys were displayed in the store.

There were food-shaped and character squishies, along with Slang-i and Wakppu Balls, so it was easy to compare several toy styles in one place.

The products differed not only in design but also in softness and stretchiness. Pressing them in person made it easier to notice which texture felt most appealing.
Regular squishies focus on a soft squeezing feel
A typical squishy is mainly about the soft feeling you get when pressing it with your fingers or palm.
I used to think mostly of simple squeeze toys, but the products at Artbox came in many designs, including food and character shapes.
스퀴시 까지 다양..
Some felt very soft, while others had a chewier, more elastic texture. They were the kind of toys that made me keep squeezing them without really thinking about it.
They may look like children’s toys, but they can also work as something to keep your hands busy on a desk.
How are Slang-i and Crunch Slang-i different?
There were also plenty of Slang-i products displayed next to the regular squishies.
After touching them in person, regular squishies, slime and Slang-i did not feel like the same kind of toy at all.

Crunch Slang-i stands out for the pieces inside
The product that caught my attention most was the Crunch Slang-i.
It contains different pieces inside, so the sensation changes when you press it. The shapes and internal contents also varied from product to product.
Compared with simply squeezing something soft and letting go, it offers more varied fingertip sensations.
Keycap toys are about the clicking sensation
Alongside the sensory toys, there were several types of keycap toys too.

Keycap toys have a completely different feel from squishies or Slang-i because the fun comes from repeatedly pressing and feeling the click.
What they have in common is that the main attraction is interacting with them by hand rather than simply looking at them.
How is a Wakppu Ball different from a regular squishy?
After looking through the different products, the one I actually bought was an egg-yolk Wakppu Ball.

A regular squishy is mostly about repeated squeezing, while the Wakppu Ball is characterized by the sensation of cracking its outer layer.
The egg-yolk shape also made the toy itself visually distinctive.
What the egg-yolk Wakppu Ball felt like after trying it
After buying it, I opened it at home and tried it myself.

When I pressed the outer layer, it gave a cracking-like sensation that felt clearly different from a regular squishy.

The most distinctive part was the crunchy, cracking feeling when the outer layer gave way under pressure.
You can also see and hear the cracking action in the egg-yolk Wakppu Ball ASMR video.
Squishy vs. Slang-i vs. Wakppu Ball: quick comparison
| Type | Main feature | How you use it |
|---|---|---|
| Squishy | Soft or chewy texture | Squeeze and knead by hand |
| Slang-i | A chewier feel that differs from regular squishies | Press and handle by hand |
| Crunch Slang-i | Different fingertip sensations from pieces inside | Press to feel the internal textures |
| Wakppu Ball | A cracking-like sensation in the outer layer | Press to enjoy the crunchy break |
| Keycap toy | Clicking pressure sensation | Press repeatedly |
Are these toys still fun for adults?
After trying several products myself, there was enough variety in the textures that they did not feel like toys only for children.
다 하나씩 가져오고싶었지만..
If you like keeping your hands busy, comparing the feel of regular squishies and Slang-i can be surprisingly entertaining.
I bought one Wakppu Ball this time, but the different internal texture of a Crunch Slang-i made me want to try one next.
Which type should you choose?
- If you like a soft squeezing feel, try a squishy
- If you prefer a chewier texture, try Slang-i
- If you are curious about different textures from pieces inside, try Crunch Slang-i
- If you want a distinctive cracking sensation, try a Wakppu Ball
- If you enjoy a clicking press, try a keycap toy
Even though they are all sensory toys, the way each one feels in your hands is quite different. If the store lets you try them, comparing the textures in person makes choosing much easier.
